Today I thought I'd share with you a recipe for a smoothie I have been enjoying lately. Smoothies are a great way to get extra nutrients into your diet as you can add many ingredients that you wouldn't normally eat together in a meal as well as adding in supplements. They are als super easy to make, no fancy cooking skills required- just add everything into a blender and you're good to go! I got the basis of this smoothie recipe from SimpleGreenSmoothies on Instagram, but I added a few of my own ingredients. That's another great thing about smoothies, they are so versatile so you can easily add, remove or substitute ingredients from a recipe.

So, here's what you'll need:
- 1 cup of Spinach
- 1 cup of Kale
- 1 tsp Chia Seeds
- 2 Bananas
- 2 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1 cup Almond Milk
- 1 scoop Protein Powder (I used chocolate flavour)
- 1 tbsp Spirulna Powder

Instructions
- Add everything into your blender and blend until smooth. That's it!

The kale won't blend completely so the smoothie will have bits in it, if you don't like bits then you can omit the kale and chia seeds and just use 2 cups of spinach instead. This smoothie has several superfood ingredients: Spinach, Kale, Chia Seeds and Spirulina Powder. To read more about the health benefits of Chia Seeds, you can read my post here. I'll be talking about the health benefits of the rest in future posts. I loved this smoothie and will be making it time and time again. SimpleGreenSmoothies are currently running a 30 day Smoothie challenge on their instagram. As I'm on holiday I won't be able to take part until after I get back, but I definitely want to make nutritious smoothies a bigger part of my diet. Let me know what you think of this smoothie if you try it! What's your favourite smoothie or juice recipe?
